Why We’re Attending The IFMA Boston Treehouse Tour
The David Rubenstein Treehouse is Harvard’s first university-wide conference center, located at the front of the university’s growing Enterprise Research Campus in Allston. The low-carbon, mass timber building features an Alaskan yellow cedar facade, bird-safe glass, and branch-like timber beams designed to encourage collaboration and connection. The evening pairs a panel discussion on how the project came together and its sustainable design features with a tour of the building, followed by networking.
The panel brings together the full lifecycle of the project: Athené Sirivallop, Director of the Treehouse Conference Center, who guided the venue from planning through launch; Michael Bongiorni of Tishman Speyer, who brings more than 20 years of development and program management experience; and Rebecca Hatchadorian, Harvard’s Director for Sustainable Built Environment, who leads strategy for decarbonizing Harvard’s 600+ buildings. That combination of owner, developer, and sustainability perspectives makes it a valuable look at how institutions are delivering complex, low-carbon projects from concept to operations.
